Encompass Health Corp. on Wednesday said it plans to spin off its home health and hospice business as Enhabit Home Health & Hospice.
The company plans to consummate the spinoff in the first half of this year.
The rebranding of the home health and hospice business is expected to begin in April and be largely completed by the time of the spin-off, Encompass said.
The transaction is expected to be tax-free to Encompass shareholders and will see shareholders owning stock in both companies, Encompass said.
Encompass Health said it offers both facility-based and home-based patient care.
