Industry City announced that Fundraise Up, an AI-powered fundraising platform for nonprofits including UNICEF USA, the American Heart Association, the World Health Organization Foundation, has opened its newly-inked headquarters at the 16-building, 35-acre campus in Sunset Park.

The company’s new headquarters encompasses 15,000 s/f, located in Building 3, with room to grow as the company continues to scale. Founded in 2017, Fundraise Up has experienced rapid growth over the past year and expects to more than double its employee count by year-end.

“More often than not, when the founders of a newly-funded startup walk through the door, they want a pre-built space that is plug-and-play,” said Kathe Kramer Chase, Director of Leasing at Industry City. “The goal is to be up and running immediately— while spending very little capital— in hopes that the space will be quickly outgrown.

“In this case, Fundraise Up opted for a clean, modern space with glass offices and conference rooms, an over-sized pantry and communal area, and incredible harbor views. This is an impressive flagship in arguably the buzziest part of NYC that is sure to attract new talent.”

Fundraise Up, who recently completed its round of Series A funding, joins an assemblage of venture-backed startups scaling their businesses at Industry City, including MPB, a global marketplace for photo and video equipment, who in light of their recent Series D investment is increasing its footprint at Industry City; as well as Square, the payment application company, who has doubled its special projects studio at the campus.

“The need for an optimized way to capture donations became more essential with the halt of in-person fundraising events in 2020, so the speed at which we operate has grown drastically within the last year,” said Peter Byrnes, Co-Founder & CEO of Fundraise Up. “With that, we needed a functional, yet operational headquarters that would grow with us when needed but was available within a week of signing—and we got one. Industry City provides the feel of a big-tech campus, with its collaborative spaces and conveniences, and provides our employees with numerous social experiences that are key to growing our team culture. This is important for us as we grow.”

Industry City was represented internally Jeff Fein, Senior Vice President in the transaction.
