A man driving on the 60 Freeway early Sunday morning was shot and injured by someone passing by in another car, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The victim and a passenger were headed eastbound on the 60, driving past Fairway Avenue in the City of Industry at around 12:45 a.m. when three shots were fired from a blue or purple Dodge sedan carrying two men, according to a CHP statement.
The driver was struck more than once and pulled off the freeway at Lemon Avenue before parking at a strip mall parking lot at 20627 Golden Springs Drive in Diamond Bar. His passenger was not hit.
The car with the shooter sped off and has not been located, CHP said.
CHP officers found the victim at the strip mall, then transported him to Pomona Valley Hospital, where he was being treated for his injuries.
CHP asked for anyone with information about the shooting to call detectives at (626) 338-1164.
