X-Men: X-Corp is Revealed to the World in New Preview - Screen Rant

Potential spoilers for X-Corp #1 ahead.

The world was just introduced to X-Corp, the next step for the X-Men,  in a special preview for X-Corp #1, written by Tini Howard with art by Alberto Foche, colors by Sunny Gho, and letters by Ariana Maher. The issue is in stores and on digital platforms on May 12.

Earth’s mutants finally have their own haven, the island utopia of Krakoa. Over time, Krakoa has asserted itself on the world stage, becoming an independent nation and the culture on the island continues to grow and develop. Krakoa has embassies and gateways all over the world, and they engage in international trade with the Hellfire Trading Company. The X-Men are taking the next step toward international diplomacy with the upcoming Hellfire Gala, a posh and opulent affair that will see the mutants mingle with the outside world and showcase the best in mutant fashion. X-Corp is another such step - one that sees the mutants entering into the high-stakes world of corporate warfare, and fans get their first glimpse of this new company in a preview for the first issue.

The preview showcases an introductory video for the corporation. Scenic shots of life on Krakoa are shown, ranging from the gorgeous scenery to mutants such as Forge and Jamie Madrox in action. A narrator asks about “possibility” and what drives people to step out of their comfort zone and seek more. The narrator then invites the reader to discover whatever is next with them and it is revealed that Warren Worthington III (Archangel) and Monet St. Croix (Penance) are heading up X-Corp. The duo welcome readers to X-Corp, with the slogan “We’re Simply Superior.” Take a look at the preview pages below.

The X-Corp represents a major step forward for the mutant community on Krakoa. Through various organizations, including the Hellfire Trading Club, the X-Men have established a major presence in the arenas of international commerce and trade. Readers have learned that Krakoa makes medicines for the outside world as well, so the X-Men establishing a multinational corporation makes perfect sense. Similarly, putting two cutthroat, business-minded mutants such as Archangel and Penance in charge makes sense as well. Interestingly enough, this is not the first time the X-Men have tried to form a corporation. During Grant Morrison’s New X-Men, Professor X created a non-profit corporation to further mutant interests, but it came crashing down after M-Day. Will this new version be successful?

Not much else has been revealed about X-Corp beyond the previews and advanced solicitations, but it promises to shake up the X-Men’s world in a major way, and fans can find out more for themselves on May 12.
