Employees and first responders at Abrazo Health locations across the Valley are being treated to free meals from local food trucks this week, courtesy of Goodyear-based beverage packaging manufacturer Ball Corp.
The meals donated by Ball Corp. are in recognition of Abrazo’s health care heroes serving greater Phoenix during the ongoing novel coronavirus pandemic, an Abrazo Health news release stated.
Abrazo hospitals, like others across the U.S., teamed with physicians and first responders to ensure community medical and safety needs are being met in the Valley as the world continues to battle COVID-19.
Meals are being served during day and evening shifts at Abrazo Arrowhead Campus in Glendale, Abrazo Arizona Heart Hospital, Abrazo Central Campus and Abrazo Scottsdale Campus in Phoenix, Abrazo Mesa Hospital in Mesa, Abrazo West Campus in Goodyear, Abrazo Buckeye Emergency Center in Buckeye and Abrazo Peoria Emergency Center in Peoria.
“During the emergency declaration caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, we want to thank Ball Corp. for its thoughtful donation of meals provided by local community food trucks for hospital and first responder staff at each Abrazo Health hospital,” Abrazo Health Chief Executive Officer Brian Elisco stated. “We appreciate the support your organization provided through its donation during this time. Together we will get through this as a community.
Through its ongoing COVID SAFETY efforts, Abrazo continues to provide emergency care and elective procedures. Abrazo took the lead in relaxing visitor restrictions for the comfort and peace of mind of its patients and their families.
“Our employees felt we could have the biggest positive impact on the community by thanking our hospital workers and first responders, while assisting small business, during the crisis. We took this idea and worked with Abrazo and we are delighted with the opportunity to help,” Ball Corp. Human Resources Manager Chris McClanahan stated.
“The business community has been so supportive of front line health care workers and we truly appreciate each donation and expression of support. This kind gesture by Ball Corporation, our southwest Valley neighbor in Goodyear, is uplifting is so many ways,” Abrazo West Campus Chief Executive Officer Christina Oh stated.
