Shale driller Unit Corp. is planning to file for bankruptcy in the wake of collapsing crude prices, according to people familiar with the matter.

The Oklahoma-based driller is working with restructuring advisers from Opportune LLP and Vinson & Elkins LLP to prepare the chapter 11 filing, they said.
