Huntsman Corp. shares rose 8% to $39.61 Tuesday after the company posted better-than-expected sales and profit in the fourth quarter.
The chemical products maker logged a profit of $607 million, or per-share earnings of $2.73, compared with net income of $360 million, or per-share earnings of $1.54, in the same quarter a year ago. Adjusted per-share earnings were 95 cents. Analysts polled by FactSet had expected adjusted per-share earnings of 90 cents.
Revenue rose to $2.31 billion from $1.69 billion. Analysts polled by FactSet had expected $2.16 billion.
Huntsman said the board approved a 13% increase to the quarterly dividend.
"We expect 2022 to be another strong year for Huntsman and I look forward to updating you as the year progresses," Chief Executive Peter Huntsman said in prepared remarks Monday.
