Carnival Corp. stock rises Monday, still underperforms market - MarketWatch

Shares of Carnival Corp. CCL rose 1.17% to $18.16 Monday, on what proved to be an all-around great trading session for the stock market, with the S&P 500 Index SPX rising 1.32% to 4,655.27 and the Dow Jones Industrial Average DJIA rising 0.68% to 35,135.94. Carnival Corp. closed $13.36 below its 52-week high ($31.52), which the company achieved on June 8th.

The stock underperformed when compared to some of its competitors Monday, as Marriott International Inc. MAR rose 2.26% to $150.77, Royal Caribbean Group RCL rose 2.81% to $69.89, and Carnival PLC ADR CUK rose 1.40% to $16.71. Trading volume (57.8 M) eclipsed its 50-day average volume of 31.5 M.
