EDEN Power Corp Wants to Save Our Oceans - HYPEBEAST

Canadian label EDEN Power Corp has released its Fall/Winter 2020 collection, highlighting the death of the oceans and taking inspiration from the people trying to restore them. These influences run throughout the collection in both obvious and more subtle ways, including the materials used.

Graphics across the collection include phrases such as “Ocean Graveyard Restoration” and “Acidification” — noting a worrying trend occurring across the oceans — while another image features a gravestone for the Great Barrier Reef. As well as graphic pieces, EDEN Power Corp’s FW20 collection also features stand-out workwear-style jackets, logo-printed bags and branded caps.

The FW20 collection features no synthetic fibers in its production, as EDEN Power Corp attempts to help the fight against microplastics. Instead, 100% recycled cotton is used for the T-shirts, long sleeves and hoodies, while the cut-and-sew items are constructed using a blend of hemp and organic cotton. Additionally, the label has continued its partnership with Eden Reforestation Projects, meaning it plants five mangrove trees for each sale through a retailer and 20 mangrove trees for each sale through its own web store.

To mark the launch of the collection, the brand partnered with sculptor Daniel Giordano, who produced custom work from trash and found materials collected from the bank of the Hudson River. These sculptures and accessories feature in the FW20 lookbook, while others will be shown in a future exhibition.

Take a look through the EDEN Power Corp FW20 lookbook in the gallery above. The collection is available now from stockists including Nitty Gritty and LN-CC.
